Armada Celebration

Since the Eighteenth century there has been a curious custom in Leicester, that an annual sermon should be preached in order to give thanks to God for the Spanish failing in their plan to invade England in 1588. Being our Vicar, Chris Burch’s turn, we turned it into a whole weekend of celebration, with a strong Elizabethan flavour. We were joined and helped in our activities by many people in the community, which has given people some very happy memories. I must offer a special ‘thank you’ to the Kidstuff members, who showed their skills with the stocks!
