Easter Eve – service cancelled this year

The Easter Eve service at St Peter’s is one of the most dramatic and atmospheric services in the year. But it has not been well attended recently, and this year, with Easter falling so late, it will not be properly dark when we usually start at 8.15pm. The alternatives are to start later, making the probable attendance even smaller, or to move the lighting of the Easter candle to the Parish Eucharist on Easter Sunday morning.

So this service, regretfully, will not take place this year. But do come on Easter Sunday morning, for an atmospheric start to the service, when we light the candle and bring it into church, singing to greet the risen Lord Jesus.
