Children undertaking various activities at a session

On Monday afternoons, the community hall at St Peter’s reverberates with the sights and sounds of children playing games, sports and crafts. The Kidstuff project offers ‘Open Access’ play provision in Braunstone for a core age group of 7 to 12 years and has been running for just over a year.

Sessions offer an opportunity for children to come and relax, paint a picture or make a model, play a game on the Playstation or Air Hockey or kick a ball around. In the holidays we also go on trips and in this summer we went to Sutton on Sea and on a cinema trip to see ‘Ant bully’.

During term time we are open on Mondays from 3.15pm – 5.15pm. In the school holidays the hours vary, so watch this space!

Sunday School

You never know who will be there – some weeks there are just 2 or 3 of us and some weeks we are more than a dozen.

We are children of all ages from 3-13 years.
Some come with a parent,
others with a grandparent,
but many of us just drop in on our own or with brothers and sisters.

Linda, Helen, Julia and Pat take it in turns to find things for us to make, pictures for us to colour and games for us to play, and all the time we learn more about Jesus and have fun.

Come and join us –
we’d love to see you and you’d have a good time.

  • Half term with Kidstuff St Peter’s ---

Kidstuff had a busy and active half term. It began on Monday afternoon with a trip out to Bradgate Park where we ran up to Old John and we got rubbings from the trees, logs, leaves, rock, and stones and we collected fallen leaves and acorns, sticks to use with our artwork later in […]

  • Forever Boating ---

On a beautiful Autumn Saturday in October a small group of young people and Adults from Braunstone gathered at Thurmaston marina to collect the Northeaster, a 13 metre narrowboat. After a safety briefing from our skipper for the day, Ann Murphy we all squeezed into lifejackets and got ready for our day trip, beginning […]

  • Young People on Canal Trip - Saturday 6th October 2007 ---

St Peter’s was invited to take a group of young people on a canal boat - the first such activity for several years.
The trip was organised by Ann Murphy, pioneer minister for Leicester Diocese. A keen boater herself, Ann made it possible for us to enjoy a whole day together on the canal boat […]
