Knitters get together

A few of the knitters

A group of us meet monthly to knit and have a chat. Tea and biscuits also feature!
We started by knitting “hats” for Innocent Smoothie drinks. An appeal had been made by AgeUK for knitters to get busy making these. They are put on the bottles of drink and sold in supermarkets, each one sold generating 25p for the charity.

Having made many hats we fancied a change. Intercare is a charity working in Africa and they need baby clothes, particularly for premature babies. We are rising to the challenge and producing jackets, hats, bootees and blankets.

We welcome anyone whether or not you can knit! If you want to learn we’ll show you how. We can teach you to crochet too. If you want to come for a natter and a cup of tea, that’s fine. We look forward to seeing you. See the Welcome sheet to find out when we are meeting.
