Churches say “Thank you” to Fire Service
Last Monday (16th June) Chris Burch went to say a big “Thank you” to the fire crews at New Parks Fire Station, who have stuck with the Braunstone community when it was hit by arson attacks (in March) and a tragic fire that killed two people (in April).

The card was made by Churches Together in South West Leicester at their “Party in the Park” on May 11th, but it was delivered by a group that included Maureen Parker (who was rescued from the fire) and two pupils Red Martin and Megan Kilbourne from the local Caldecote Community Primary School.
The fire crew seemed pleased to get the card, and they showed the girls round their fire engine. Although fire and rescue can be deadly serious (a matter of life-and-death) the crew didn’t look all that solemn…
