Summer Fair – “Cross Art”

Cross Art - Creative Braunstone

Part of our Summer Festival – this year we are working with the Creative Braunstone Group, which is affiliated to the BCA. We believe passionately in creativity as part of the way God has made us. And it’s as we learn to express our creativity without being afraid that we grow as human beings. Please come if you can, and enjoy the different ways we’ve found to help everyone be creative…

On Saturday between 11.30am and 4.00pm inside St Peter’s there will be an exhibition of artwork produced by a range of local artists as part of the Creative Braunstone initiative. Visitors themselves will be able to try out a range of painting, printing and modelling techniques with different materials using the local natural environment and the historic church building as inspiration to create pieces of art to take away.

Everyone attending will be able to contribute to creating the Big ART, a big picture that will be unveiled at a special celebratory ‘Songs of Praise’ service on Sunday 22nd June at 4.00pm.

Local Community Artist, Mandeep Dhadialla said “St. Peters Church has provided a great opportunity to bring together the diverse members of the local community in the form of art and look forward to the festival being the hub of creativity.”

On Saturday there will also be an opportunity to enjoy traditional church fete stalls, including a Tombola, a Raffle, a cake and home produce stall, games and there will be a bouncy castle.

Canon Chris Burch, Vicar of St Peter’s said “There is a tremendous amount of creativity and imagination in Braunstone and this festival is an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy these talents and for everyone to have a go at creating something together”
