The Fat Controller opens our Autumn Fair

Our Autumn Fair and Model Railway Show was launched in a suitable manner by the Fat Controller, taking time off from Thomas the tank engine to welcome people on a bright November day to a delight of trains and tombola, bacon butties and bric-a-brac.

In the church was a variety of wonderful railway layouts and their enthusiastic creators, eager to share their love of modelling and show off their handiwork. A delight to young and old alike!

The Fair also had an obvious presence outside the church, as the dulcet tones of a mechanical organ wafted over the neighbourhood, with a variety of music from classic to pop to enjoy.

This year we were pleased to offer space to Clockwise, encouraging people to borrow money wisely, and not from the loan sharks and ‘pay-day’ lenders. Those with money spare can invest it with Clockwise, and those who were short can get a suitable loan at reasonable rates.

And, of course, the Autumn Fair would not be complete without the traditional bacon butties – or sausage if you prefer – and a welcome drink, a chance to sit down and chat with friends old and new.

It all added up to a very enjoyable day – fine weather, things to buy, things to see, things to eat, and friends to share. Thank you for your support – and see you next year!
