The Bishop visits St Peter’s
A fine day in October was very special for some of our church family. The Bishop visited us to perform confirmations of five candidates: Marjorie, Sandie, Carla and John from St Peter’s, and Jacob from Holy Apostles – and the baptism of Kai, Carla’s son.
It was a moving service, with Carla and John telling us something of their spiritual journey, before the Bishop led them to confirm their baptismal vows.
The whole congregation was privileged to share the occasion and gave them a warm round of applause.
Following the service, we all moved outside to get our share of the hog roast – part of a weekend of meals sponsored by our Mission Partnership.
Even the Bishop was fed!
What better way to follow a hog butty than something sweet – created by our marvelous ladies.
But it was not just for the food we there – there was also to opportunity to cement our ties with our sister churches and to meet new people.
A very special day for Kai and the five confirmation candidates, and for us. And God blessed us with a sunny day!
